Reporting

What do survey, research, and evaluation consumers need to know and when? From the outset of an engagement, ICF Macro takes the time to examine our customer’s interests, sensitive issues, perspectives, and the expected uses of study results. Findings, recommendations, and the methods we use to reach them must be communicated to the right people. Our study managers work with clients to identify audiences such as sponsors, senior officials, managers, staff, and advocacy groups. Meeting deadlines is paramount. Yet, reporting is more than a race to the finish line. Regular communication with our clients ensures that emerging information needs, study issues, and interim findings are shared and considered along the way.

For Macro, reporting is a dynamic and forward-looking activity. We tailor written reports—briefing papers, executive summaries, press releases, and volumes of detail—to address the needs and sophistication of different audiences. Our trained presenters conduct briefings that employ engaging visuals and invite audience participation. We present our work at conferences. We are leaders in making information accessible through the Internet, CDs, videos, and other electronic media. ICF Macro has extensive capabilities in communications, social marketing, training, and technical assistance. As a result, reporting blends seamlessly into an ongoing stream of practical products and dissemination activities.

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Customer Satisfaction Survey

ICF Macro has maintained a long-standing relationship with the EPA that includes organizational consulting, policy development, and training. For the fourth year, we conducted an annual customer satisfaction survey. This survey focuses on service delivery from 65 administrative and support activities. ICF Macro assessed extremely complex service relationships and mapped the results to the individual activity and location where the service originated. ICF Macro provided summary profiles for each activity, detailed reports, and briefings for each of the EPA’s seven administrative offices. We briefed the Executive Team and consulted with it to create appropriate actions and to set future targets. This study relied on a complex methodology that was presented in a paper at the American Association of Public Opinion Research.

Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) Surveys

ICF Macro uses online reporting to deliver the results and status of annual BRFSS surveys. These surveys help health scientists to track trends and health risk patterns and to guide State health policies. We are the largest provider of BRFSS services, conducting this important public health survey on behalf of 14 U.S. States and territories. Each month, ICF Macro provides clients with a data file, along with a report that includes the response rate calculated by the CASRO method, upper-bound response rate, survey efficiency, and certain interview attributes such as demographic data, disposition codes, and completed interviews. We also provide BRFSS clients with weekly status reports through a password-protected Web site.
