Business Strategies for Utility Company
A large regional utility company turned to ICF Macro to develop business and communications strategies that would enable it to compete successfully in a market environment that was undergoing substantial change through deregulation. Our organization and market assessments demonstrated that the company needed to develop a unique business strategy, including new product and service options. ICF Macro trained company employees to be more attuned to competition and to respond to a critical need for customer satisfaction. The training objective was to create a workforce that would communicate and demonstrate—to new and prospective customers—that the company is committed to anticipating and meeting their needs in innovative ways. Every employee learned the sense of urgency that competition will bring to the lives of people in their industry. They gained the information they needed to respond appropriately and learned that they are active partners in this critical change process.
Naval Surface Warfare Center, Coastal Systems Station (CSS) Change Management
ICF Macro supported change management efforts by CSS to refocus a long-term technical strategy and to deploy this strategy across the CSS workforce. ICF Macro met with CSS executives to identify and discuss issues affecting CSS program effectiveness and technical strategy directions, particularly in relation to the agency’s changing national role and to align the CSS vision and technical goals with the strategic objectives of other Navy entities. We conducted workshops to address the technical strategy planning process and to prepare for corporate vision implementation. Workshop goals included gaining staff buy-in to the organization’s redefined vision and goals, stimulating commitment to carrying out the goals, and establishing the most effective reorganization strategy.
